My final thoughts on all this: you have the freedom to believe what you want to believe and love who you want to love.
I know I won't change anyone's mind or their beliefs, just like they won't change mine. I won't belittle you if you believe in God or any other entity. I won't hate you if you believe that gays shouldn't be married.
The only thing that pisses me off is when the belief is overrun with biggotry and we saw that A LOT yesterday from one member, hence why I went on the defensive.
I have family members (including my parents) who believe it is a choice, and I know someday soon my 15 year old nephew will come out the closet. I can only hope my family changes their way of thinking and accepts him with open arms. As of this moment he's only confided in me, knowing my former roommate was gay and that he's got an ally in his uncle.
And since this argument mainly pertains to the US, remember, this is a civil rights issue, therefore the rights held up by the constitution and not any religious beliefs.
I will now formally bow out of the argument, but if you believe homosexuals do choose their lifestyle, all I ask is for you to read research on XQ28, the "gay gene" as some will call it in males.
