Based on a story by science fiction author Isaac Asimov, Bicentennial Man details a robot's 200-year journey of self-discovery. Given the moniker Andrew Martin by the family who owns him, the robot (Robin Williams) develops an emotional attachment to his owners, and eventually visits an engineer who helped design him. Screenwriter Nicholas Kazan, whose credits include 1990's Reversal of Fortune and 1998's Fallen, adapted the story. The film is directed by Chris Columbus, who also teamed up with Williams for 1993's Mrs. Doubtfire.
