Drowning Mona is a mystery that follows the murder of a small-town matriarch, who is played by Bette Midler.
The film features an ensemble cast that includes Danny DeVito, Neve Campbell, Casey Affleck, Jamie Lee Curtis and Peter Dobson.
Nick Gomez directs the film, following up 1995's New Jersey Drive as well as several stints as the director of the HBO series Oz.
The script was written by Peter Steinfeld, whose only previous writing credit is for the 1998 TV movie, Echo.
