Urban legends are stories usually spread via the spoken word (and these days via email). Some are benign, while others are downright horrifying. (Heard the one about the guy in the bathtub of ice with one of his kidneys gone?)
Pendleton College's students have an urban legend for their New England campus: in Stanley Hall, a psychotic psychology professor supposedly murdered several students, then committed suicide.
When a string of deaths occurs at school, intelligent and gorgeous student Natalie (Witt) links them to the urban legends. Peers Brenda (Gayheart), Paul (Leto), and Damon (Jackson) (good friend, journalist, and class clown, respectively) try to convince her that the deaths are coincidental. Of course, as with any teen-targeted movie, protagonist Natalie is also the killer's next target.
