Starring Martin Lawrence and Danny DeVito, the comedy What's the Worst That Could Happen? is based on Donald E. Westlake's novel by the same name. Sam Weisman will direct the story about a billionaire who catches a thief robbing his mansion and punishes him by taking his lucky ring. Facing a bleak future, the crook makes it his mission in life to get revenge on the mogul.
Other books by Westlake include Smoke, Don't Ask, and Baby, Would I Lie?. Aside from George of the Jungle and The Out-of-Towners, Weisman has a solid background as a television director. Those credits include L.A. Law, Moonlighting, and Family Ties.
