of lack of longevity and more front-loading of movies...

do you have such a data by any chance?

i would love for the mult to go up from present 2.7...

Another sign pointing to wide release, new [IRNLD] posterwith Friday's date. Antibody Jan 10, 13:34

What's the mult for a limited release expanding wide? 2.5? {nm} TheWeekendWarrior Jan 10, 13:36

... I mean, over a four-day weekend, of course. {nm} TheWeekendWarrior Jan 10, 13:37

Multipliers are based on historical average. Without any data, we default to 2.2*Box Office Friday-Monday {nm} Antibody Jan 10, 13:41

+ Previous B.O> {nm} Antibody Jan 10, 13:42

Yay! I was right! :D {nm} accountant_4_Jesus Jan 10, 13:42

what about ltd -> to exp 3.0 deal? {nm} Oleg Max Jan 10, 13:42

Hmm, I suppose we could use 3.0 without the box office for Monday. That may come closer to the delist pirce. {nm} Antibody Jan 10, 13:48

Delist price is determined by how well a film is received by the movie-going public, not by the adjust. Jus' sayin'. {nm} accountant_4_Jesus Jan 10, 13:51

maybe the adjust mult needs to be determined by a combination of CinemaScore and RottenTomato scores then:) {nm} TheWeekendWarrior Jan 10, 13:57

So then DVNSD's adjust should've been -175? :P {nm} accountant_4_Jesus Jan 10, 13:58

The multipliers came from the actual delist price divided opening weekend. {nm} Antibody Jan 10, 14:05

The point of the Adjust to bring the price closer to the delist price by using a multiplier that's the average of all films. {nm} Antibody Jan 10, 14:06

I'm finding that movies generally have better legs now than they did ten years ago so would HSX consider upping the mult accordingly? {nm} TheWeekendWarrior Jan 10, 14:17

i guess you would need to support your claim by providing hard data.... whole reason why mult dropped from 2.9 to 2.8 to 2.7 is because Oleg Max Jan 10, 14:27

The histrorical data through 2010 has shown a downward trend towards 2.6. Haven't looked at 2011. {nm} Antibody Jan 10, 14:33

with horror films typically 2.0 delist, and animated fam films 3.5, time to go to seperate mults? i mean if we're changing everything :) {nm} islander Jan 10, 14:35

re:islander, or no adjust at all. {nm} Antibody Jan 10, 14:39

Re: DMac, if there's no adjust, that will lessen the traffic to your site, and also lessen the amount of players in this fine game. {nm} accountant_4_Jesus Jan 10, 14:44

I think 2011 will show it evening out.. although I guess movies like Twilight are going to screw things up. {nm} TheWeekendWarrior Jan 10, 14:37

I don't have time to collect the data right now but maybe when I have more time. {nm} TheWeekendWarrior Jan 10, 15:28

as long as you'll receive a 3 day est from ERC, that should work, right? {nm} Oleg Max Jan 10, 13:51

i dont understand why this comes up *every* time theres an odd weekend. glossary and calender are your friend and mistress :) {nm} islander Jan 10, 13:49

nevermind :/ {nm} islander Jan 10, 13:53

what are we getting for a multiplier, pls? {nm} Oleg Max Jan 10, 13:38

I'm fairly certain it will be Previous BO + 2.2 * Fri-Mon. {nm} accountant_4_Jesus Jan 10, 13:39
