With an estimated $28.3 million over the 4-day holiday weekend, Crazy Rich Asians [CRASN] banked the second best Labor Day weekend ever, in its third weekend no less. 2007's Halloween holds the record at $30.8 million. The romantic comedy has earned $117.0 million.
The Meg [MEG] finished second at $13.4 million to bring its total to $123.4 million.
Operation Finale [OPFIN] opened at the fourth spot with $7.8 million over the long weekend and $9.5 million since Wednesday. The audience was 51% male and 65% over the age 35
Searching [SARCH] found $7.7 million in its wide expansion. The thriller drew 50% females and 61% over the age 25.
The Happytime Murders [HPTMR] dropped to seventh and $5.5 million in its sophomore session. The comedy has grossed $18.0 million.
Kin [KIN] bombed with just $3.7 million in its debut. The sci-fi skewed 56% male and 65% aged 25 or older.
