That's a silly thing to say. There are still ways to make money from IPOs. People are just really impatient and want the gains now instead
of having to be patient and wait it out. Every single big IPO recently (priced at more than $70 on IPO) has taken a little while to move, but has provided solid short-term gains. It's just the people that panic at the slightest movement that lose money when they sell out of it. Do some research, find out which way people normally play IPOs (I have a fairly good idea personally from research I've done) and the directions they go after reset, and play accordingly.
