Yes i did read your post. There isn't good stuff in there. there is confusion of the game. From a long time player that has any kind of success in this game, your posts scream confusion. none of us are seeing what you are, clearly. because we know how the game is played.you talk up 10 years 10years EVERYDAY trader. You had no idea what a starbond adjust was..... come on. youre trolling now. or just too short sighted to see what we are saying...... your post and responses.
Something different is going on when within approx. 3 weeks of August my cash stays the same but my net worth drops by almost 3 million and my rank plummets nearly 2 hundred places.
Your investments are losing money. free cash stays the same.
Every day I log-in and see dozens of securities down at least 1 or more percent, and in some cases--far more than that.
When that is the case I look for news on that movie or actor and surprise--there is NONE!
Reset trading or Summer traders pulling out of stocks for the winter until they return next summer, or simply you just happened to miss the news. not all news is tagged to the stock.
Again, when my trading strategy has not changed and for 10 years has only ever caused upward movement,
but then in just 3 weeks instead of my percentile going up a tenth of a percent I go down and lose millions,
your investment strategy isn't working for this time period. This summer has been crappy for movies. So, any movie you had that did poorly this summer has netted you a loss.
then there must be something else going on that has nothing to do with my trading strategy.
Nope. It's your strategy. you've followed the samething for 10yrs. if you don't change and the game has in the past 10 years (no adjusts for one thing) your going to lose money. you have only 174M after 10yrs! if you want to play as slow, steady and conservative then your doing great. I managed the PARAX fund from 9-16-16. Only allowed to play Paramount stock, about 45 stocks, and no bonds at all. went from 2M to 60M in less then a year. off of only 45 stocks. down to about 30ish after delists.
Many ports sold their positions so they could buy Wonder Woman 2"
- Still the dumbest answer ever...While yes, I am aware that this particular MovieStock is up over H$50 already (or between 20 and 30 percent),
what one is implying is EVERYONE sold EVERYTHING so that they could go ALL in (or as much as possible) on this one security--and WHY? Seriously, WHAT makes this so darn appealing?
This is very very common with low value ports. I did it and so did everyone else. if you don't like it or understand it, doesn't mean it doesn't happen.
"My portfolio is not diversified enough because I have no short positions"
- Really? Oh, because from June 2007 until about mid-August 2017 that was NEVER a problem!
This just isn't true. you lost money on stocks or just got rid of them when they started to fall. you didn't not EVER lose money in 10yrs.
- Recently I saw the IPO for IT 2...and it's already up 10 percent! Now I know for sure there are some dumb players out there--Look:
"IT" doesn't premier until September 8th which should tell any sane person, "Uh, let's wait and see how this first one does before I buy into the sequel."
Well, that's the game. has been that way long before your time here.
"Neil, you don't have enough of your portfolio in cash to be making money everyday."
- Wait a minute, how can that be when evidently, everyone has to SELL EVERYTHING they have in order to get the cash to 'go all in' on "IT 2" or "Wonder Woman 2"?
you're splitting hairs here. that's not at all what was meant. i don't know who said you don't have enough money to make money everyday but you can make money most of the time and have minimal losses. as for the getting rid of EVERYTHING, nobody is doing that, except if you just started and have under say 5 or 10 million. Wonder Woman would take up most of all your cash that can be invested other places after the initial buy in wears off.
With that nonsense, everyone with a net worth from H$2 million to H$20 billion would be behaving horribly irresponsibly financially speaking as everyday they lose lots of money on commissions just selling what they have to buy into the next big thing.
- I hold at least H$14.6 million in cash, and with the interest rate now at 1.25 percent, I get over $500 per day.
anyone after the initial hump of the first 100M starts holding on to more stocks and pulling out of ipo's less. There many many mopre low value players than large. that causes swings. if you have a valuable port then many ride it out. but its worth more to bail when 90% of you money is in one stock. i have 3.3B i hold long term on a lot of stocks now and just play news. at <100M i was a different player.
- Ha! So, for 10 years there was nothing but steady increases (the true way to make money in the real world, through daily habits); ultimately bringing my percentile to within the top 8 or 9 percent of all ports.
This isn't real world trading and that top 8-9% you still have multibillions in front of you. remember all those low value players? thats why you are top 8-9% your just a little higher. im at 99.3% and still have 498 in front of me. a 16.7B gap between me and first! 174M isn't looking too big now is it?
* Last year at this time I was up 30-40 percent, now, well, I'm performing better than the DJIA and the S&P 500 (YTD) but not the NASDAQ!
Again, not real world. and that 30-40% is based on that 174M i make about 2M a day just leaving my port alone for the most part. less than 1% a week. 40% sounds big with small numbers.
- By the way, what happened to Idris Elba? I owned 5,000 shares of that StarBond and overnight it lost almost H$60K on that--more than ANY loss I've EVER incurred!
- Well, perhaps I'll get some useful, hopefully positive feedback...but if I don't, maybe I'm on to something but I'm not profiting because I simply don't see the sense in investing in a movie called "Transformers: Bumblebee".
went over this already.
