studios make from them.
Maybe some of us are expecting too much from this 3D movies. We know their much bigger parent made 100's and hundred of millions, even sometimes a billion. So to expect the same from these 3D movies we are setting ourselves up for dissapointment and even disaster. I personaly find them patronising to the movie goer and the public.
NEM3D made $40 million from 2907 theatres made $339 million back in 2003. That like over $500 million now by todays standards.
QUESTIONS
1) Do the studios make money or have anything to gain from these 3D movies. IE NEM3D makes $40 million from 2907 theatres. But how much of this is profit. IE The Movie is already made they just have to add the 3D technology. Or was this done in the first place. What about advertisng, etc. HOW much do they make after costs have been taken out. What about the tie-ins. Do they make much more from selling the suplus toys?
*Please use other 3d movies as well, I just used NEM3D as an example. As far as I can see they all make around $20 to $40 million. Is this an east $40 million or a hard $40 million?
