I think it's a missed chance... they should have brought out TWIL1huge ( not just one night ) in the same week as nr 2. Twilight=BIG!

Eh, not really, compared to the 1000's of advance sales for midnight, the 9PM's for the first are doing a couple dozen per location

This is GWTW (yes I mean Gone with etc) for this generation! I meant there were/are opp. for marketing like 'go see nr 1 and 2 for 10 $'

Why would Summit/Theaters take away screens for TWLI2? and lose $ revenue they would've made anyways without a a 2 for 1 promo.

early bird screenings ? Midnight double bills ? I don't know... there are numerous creative ways to do that. never mind ;-)

Strongly disagree with Wells take on those numbers. Twilight is not a 4 quadrant monster like 2012 however,

You seriously think it won't outdo 2012's opening weekend? Did you notice that both RS and MTC has it tracking for over 100 opening WE??

Wells' (updated) take is "between the high 50s and low 60s", so I think thatpj is saying that TWLI2 will do better (and beat 2012's OW)

It may very well make 60m OD and not get to 100m OW, I expect serious front-loading.

That number is likely closer to the opening day than the opening weekend.

If you could help me out a bit - I've always wondered what "four quadrant" or "four-quad" means.. Where does it come from? TIA

Facto 4 quadrant encompasses all 4 demographics for movies. I believe: seniors, young adults, teens/tweens and young children are the 4
