not trying to detract from the movie or JCAME, but how much of the incredible run AVATR has had is from higher 3D and IMAX ticket prices?
i assume a lot and as more and more movies go to 3D, this will be a recurring theme.
heard Katzenberg interviewed on CNBC on friday saying that 10% of movies released this year were in 3D and they accounted for half of the total gross. sound right?
also, the ticket price estimator on boxofficemojo.com seems way low. at $7.35, that is barely above a matinee or child's ticket price.
just my opinion, but any thoughts out there on the subject?
