So: About the Mulan /Disney + thing: Can you ever imagine paying 30 dollars to watch a movie on your TV? I won't.

I had intended to see all of these but WW1984 in a theater. I do not see myself paying 30 to see any of them at home however.

So here is the thinking...

the average VOD transaction is watched by 1.8 people so the $30 is $16.67 a person on average

What percentage of viewers realistically split the cost? How often does one person absorb the total cost?

those dynamics won't change how much the average VOD transaction is viewed by. The situation here is a little different since its not really

So they immediately alienate a customer like me with no kids and a wife who has zero interest in seeing it?

Who paid 20 dollars to see King of Staten Island? We did not. And we were looking forward to seeing it. But not 20 dollars worth.

As a home theater enthusiast the laptop part kills me a little. I'd definitely do $30 for the right movies, preferably on a projector

I’d do it for Tenent and maybe Wonder Woman. I already pay for Disney+ so I won’t be renting this...

The only people that CAN rent it are Disney Plus members, correct? So you're paying in addition to the montly fee if/when you watch.

Yes that’s right. I hear you ‘own’ the movie for the lifetime of your subscription, which makes me question if it will hit the regular tier

They are betting on purchases by the families with kids who re-watch the latest movie until the parents go nuts! "Let It Go" {nm}

You're not thinking about families. I pay $50+ to take my family to the theater. This is a good deal for me.

Yes, I definitely see that would be it. When my two step sons were kids, I can see how this could be a good thing for our family.
