Besides, by the time trades go through, the stock's already up several cents and who knows how much more movement it has left. As I said, it can get ugly very, very quickly for daytraders. I've taken losses on far more stocks than I used to, that's for sure.
As for the volatility, that's on HSX, and yes, small stocks can move much more than large ones but you have to be there to catch them.
