I've been complaining about this IRC reset trading for years... pretty much since I stopped staying up to do it myself, which was over five years ago. I realized that it gave me an unfair advantage over others... plus I also couldn't stay up until 1AM anymore. I thought that moving the reset to 3AM Eastern, midnight Pacific would curtail that sort of rampant reset trading but the exacerbated volatility that came with changing the way stocks move has just made it more desirable/profitable for certain individuals to trade this way. Normally, I'd say "Bully for them at finding a way to play this game without showing any skill" but the fact that they're moving stocks an exorbitant amount in a very little bit of time based on nothing that warrants it is what gets my goat. I bring it up this time because a limited release that hasn't even opened and probably will never go wide went up 22% in the first hour of reset. Why is there a system in place that allows that sort of movement in a movie that has not shown anything that its current price BEFORE RESET was even possible? If HSX is no longer about proper data for research and is all about wanting people to trade, trade, trade, then just say so. I'm sure the 15-20 traders making 3 to 5 million trades in the first hour of reset every night will stick around. Can't say the same for myself or others who are sick of these lazy traders being rewarded for their lazy trading tactics.
