Heather Donahue, best known for her depiction of a student filmmaker in last summer's The Blair Witch Project, appears in the teen film Boys and Girls. Donahue will co-star with teen sensation Freddie Prinze Jr. (She's All That) in the romantic comedy that deals with a friendship that changes after a sexual encounter.
Born in Upper Darbey, Pennsylvania, Donahue practiced the art of acting at the nearby Walnut Street Theater School located in Philadelphia. She continued her studies at the University of the Arts where she earned multpile awards as well as a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts. At the University of the Arts in London, she participated in productions at the Soho Theatre Company and Battersea Arts Centre.
After graduation, Donahue worked professionally and landed the leading role in J.M. Synge's Diedre of the Sorrows. She also held substantial roles in Kindertransport and A Midsummer Night's Dream. Donahue moved to New York where she joined the Red Shag Improv Comedy Group and Collision Theory Theater Company. The actress appeared in both downtown and regional productions.
In 1999, Donahue captured national attention as one of three student filmmakers who disappeared in the woods in Burkittsville, Maryland in the realistic horror flick The Blair Witch Project. The surprise hit film centers on the students' attempt to shoot a documentary about a local legend, the Blair Witch.
