This has nothing to do with being an introvert or extrovert

Posted by: TheWeekendWarrior on Nov 20, 07:37 in response to 3ebfan511's post For me its the opposite...

I'm probably more on the latter side but when I go to movies, normally by myself, I don't really interact with others. It's just much better to set in a well-tuned room where you can get the full results of what the filmmakers have spent often years making. The screen is bigger than anything you can get at home and just the whole environment and the ability to get out of my tiny apartment adds to the experience. I have friends who are WAY more introverted than me who go to the movies two or three times a week. I really don't have very high regard for the people who just want to sit on their asses at home watching stuff. Movie theaters have been made safer so anyone saying that they're doing it out of anything but laziness and selfishness, I say "BULL****."

Seems like anyone and everyone is jumping on the bandwagon to get rid of theatrical. It amazes me. goodvibe61 Nov 19, 18:36

permanent solution to a temporary problem {nm} pickle rick! Nov 19, 18:46

Studios shift to direct to consumer first I agree is destructive especially multi-year window deals. notfabio Nov 19, 19:09

Well said! No matter how much is spent on a home system, and I've been in elaborate ones, the cinema experience far exceeds! {nm} PhoneHome Nov 20, 05:03

For me its the opposite... 3ebfan511 Nov 20, 05:48

I kinda get that. I'm enjoying more intimate movies at home now. Plus, no upcoming movie will replicate the Avengers: Endgame experience. {nm} Jay_Beezy Nov 20, 06:58

I agree with 3ebfan511's first paragraph 100%. I never really see a reason to go to the theater, for the very reasons they stated. {nm} Buckee Nov 20, 07:12

I don't know what that means... {nm} 3ebfan511 Nov 20, 08:20

You suggested that people that go to movie theaters more than twice a year are extroverts. I'm pointing out that this is false. {nm} TheWeekendWarrior Nov 20, 10:05

Well you don't know if its false, its a theory. You seem to say you are an extrovert...proving the point. Anyway the last few sentences.. 3ebfan511 Nov 20, 10:20

+1. The last movie I saw in theaters was Spider-Man: FFH. After that, had little desire to visit the theaters. ~JPV~ Nov 20, 09:37

The flexibility is whats important. Once there is confidence in the market and people learn to cope with it, people will come back. Gogreen Nov 20, 07:30
